The Tribute begins at 4pm and the screening begins at 6pm (arrive by (5:50 to the festival)

During the presentation, excerpts from Zinn’s final work “The People Speak” – the documentary interpretation of Zinn’s classic “A People’s History of the United States,” will be shown and Danny Glover will perform a live reading from the film. In many ways a culmination of all that was important to Zinn in his lifetime, “The People Speak” joins together Zinn’s populist historical analysis, love of art and cultural expression, and his dedication to popular and accessible media.

Following the tribute you can watch the complete The People Speak film ((ThePeopleSpeak.com) at 6:00pm (arrive by 5:50) at the Green Festival. “The People Speak” brings together a host of world-renowned talent including Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Josh Brolin, and Marisa Tomei to name a few. The film features dramatic, raw performances of primary source documents pivotal in the in the history of the United States from the perspective of regular people.
